Prosecutors charge man in Cherry Ave. basement murder

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Prosecutors filed formal charges Thursday connected to this week's deadly beating in a basement here in Yakima.

Gage Rogers is accused of second-degree murder and assault. Officers say he killed a man he knew from prison.

Police say he beat and stomped on Eric Taylor in a drunken rage at a home on Cherry Avenue.

We spoke exclusively with the man who investigators say held Rogers until officers got there.

The arrest report indicates Taylor had boot marks on his face and chest.
