Police: No students hurt in hit and run of Yakima school bus
YAKIMA, Wash. - Police say no one has been hurt after a car crashed into a Yakima School District school bus, then drove away.
Mike Bastinelli, spokesperson with the Yakima Police Department (YPD), said a car drove out of the alley at S. 17th Avenue and MacLaren around 2:50 p.m., Friday, when it struck the bus with kids inside.
The car then drove from the scene.
Police said no one was hurt in this crash.
Art Rodriguez, Director of Transportation with the school district said the vehicle was described as a burgundy, four-door, possibly newer model Impala with a sun roof and tinted windows.
The car reportedly hit the middle of the bus on the driver's side, causing minor damage. Rodriguez said the collision likely caused more damage to the car.
Law enforcement is investigating.
