Police say they were still following leads Tuesday morning.

A deputy was driving on North 1st Street in Yakima Monday night when the car's license-plate reader picked up a stolen vehicle, according to Yakima Police Captain Rod Light. They identified one of the people in the car as a suspect in the murder of a Prosser man before the car got away.

Officers scoured the area for three people who were in that vehicle. They detained a woman who they questioned and released.

Police plan to release a description of the suspect late Tuesday if necessary. Investigators said they believe they are close to finding the suspect.

Joshua Mathis was killed Friday at the Red Apple Motel, according to police.
