Police: No evidence of a bomb following reported threat at Perry Tech
YAKIMA, Wash. - [Update] Police say they have cleared the scene and no evidence of a bomb was found in Perry Technical Institute Wednesday afternoon.
Perry Tech President Christine Cote said all buildings were determined to be safe for re-entry as of 4:18 p.m. School representatives will be at the school until 6 p.m. to let students and employees in to retrieve their belongings.

Law enforcement is surrounding Perry Tech where an alleged bomb threat was reported around 2:45 p.m.
Officers with the Yakima Police Department told Action News a student found a note found in the school bathroom near Plath Hall saying there was a bomb in the school.
The school emergency response team and Yakima police quickly responded to this report. Police said the school was evacuated and students were released to go home.
Action News has observed heavy police presence outside the school. Washington Avenue from 16th to 24th Avenue is blocked off while police respond.
Police tell Action News it has not been confirmed if an actual bomb is in the school and this incident remains under investigation.
