Police: Teen severely injured after car hits him at Lincoln Avenue
YAKIMA, Wash. - A teen from Yakima is critically injured after police say a car hit him while walking at West Lincoln Avenue.
Action News went to N 24th Avenue and Lincoln around 6:30 p.m. Monday where police said a vehicle hit a pedestrian.
Reports from the Yakima Police Department said a 71-year-old woman from Yakima was driving a Cadillac Escalade heading west around 5:26 p.m. when the car hit a 14-year-old boy.
Medics took the young teen to a local hospital then later to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he is listed in critical condition.
Law enforcement blocked off the section of Lincoln Avenue for two and a half hours Monday to investigate the area.
Police did not issue any citations and do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a factor in this crash, according to reports.
The YPD Traffic Unit continues to investigate this incident.
