Police arrest a Habitat for Humanity thief
YAKIMA, Wash. - Police say they've caught the woman who broke into and stole from a Habitat for Humanity store.
Police said Stephanie Martinez, 31, and a man broke into Habitat for Humanity on Mead Avenue in early November and stole almost $700 in items and caused $1200 in damages.
Police posted surveillance footage of the burglars hoping someone would recognize them.
According to police reports, a woman called police and said it was her stepdaughter and identified Martinez.
Martinez is being charged with second degree burglary.
Police are still trying to find the man they say helped her.
