Plea deal for man accused of fleeing from police
*Editor's Note: When this story originally aired, the plea agreement was reported to be connected to an entirely unrelated case. The suspect in that case is a man named Richard Yallup, and it has not yet reached a conclusion. The corrected story is below.
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- A plea deal has been reached for a man charged with fleeing from police in December.
Jeremy Yallup entered an Alford plea. It means he maintains his innocence, but recognizes there is evidence that could get a conviction.
Prosecutors recommend a two-year sentence. He also owes $12,000 in fines. The state agreed not to add bail jumping or drug charges as part of the deal.
