Plan to get more flights to and from Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Yakima Air Terminal has been working hard to get more business and have more locals to use their services. Now there's a plan.

Nearly a week after the Master Plan draft was completed, there's a new action plan to add more flights. The consultants 'Airplanners' were hired early this year. Their 3-point plan aims at getting more people to fly to and from Yakima. A fourth flight to Seattle or Portland is also in the works.

"Now we're going to see what next steps and what the passengers need and what destinations they want for flying out of Yakima airport," interim airport manager Robert Peterson said.

The Action Plan will be reviewed at a city meeting next Tuesday.
