Pit bull put down after attacking three people

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A pit bull was put to sleep after it attacked three people in Yakima.

Owners had registered it as a service dog so that it was allowed in the city. After the dog got out and attacked three people, it was seized and quarantined.

The family had until yesterday to ask a judge for a hearing on the dog's fate. They declined to do that, and the dog was put down.

The owners could still be in trouble for falsifying documents to have the pit bull approved as a service animal.
