Perry Tech students team up with Home Builders Assoc. to create sheds for public raffle
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Students in Perry Tech's new construction program have been putting their skills to good use as they prepare for the Central Washington Home and Garden Show this weekend.
The school teamed up with the Central Washington Home Builders Association (CWHBA) to create sheds that will be raffled off at the event at the Yakima Sundome.
Fifteen students in the construction program worked alongside industry experts to draft, build, paint, and insulate two sheds themed "He Shed" and "She Shed."
"It's a new program and to be able to be with CWHBA is really cool, to get our names out there and have people come and see the stuff that we do and what we're learning," said Perry Tech student Brayden Delp.
"The construction industry is a growing field and it's a field that always needs continual workers that are trained," added CWHBA Executive Officer Carly Faul.
Anyone can enter the raffle for $10 for a chance to win a shed. Proceeds will be reinvested back into the program.
The Home and Garden Show goes from Friday, Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 12 with $10 admission.
