Passengers now can check wine for free on Alaska Airlines

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Enjoying the bounty of Yakima Valley wine is about to get easier.

Tourism officials made a deal with Alaska Airlines to promote Washington wine country. The airline won't charge passengers flying home from Yakima or Pasco for bringing up to a case of wine along.

On top of that, Enterprise rental car won't charge tourists for dropping off cars at a different airport than they flew into. All of it's designed to bring more people to our local wineries.

The deal is only for Alaska Airlines and it expands the program that started in Walla Walla last year.
