Passenger injured after car hits cow near Toppenish
NEAR TOPPENISH, Wash. —
A young woman had to be taken to the hospital Sunday night after the car she was a passenger in hit a cow.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened at 8:02 P.M. at 7820 Yakima Valley Highway, about four miles from Toppenish.
WSP says the car was traveling east when it hit a cow in the road.
An ambulance transported the passenger to Astria Toppenish Hospital.
The driver, Javier Diaz, 21, of Yakima, was charged with driving while suspended.
Both Diaz and the passenger were wearing seat belts.
WSP did not say if the cow survived.
