New inpatient psychiatric facility to open next month
YAKIMA, Wash.-- A new psychiatric facility in Yakima will open its doors next month. Bridges Evaluation and Treatment Facility is a 16-bed inpatient care psychiatric facility. Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and Comprehensive Mental Health built it together. Therapy will be available around the clock. Bridges will offer follow up treatment after patients go home.
"If somebody becomes sick enough or ill enough where they become a danger to themselves or a danger to somebody else or just gravely disabled where they cant take care of themselves, the best treatments modality is an in patient facility," Mike Norton, Comprehensive Mental Health's Planning and Development Director said.
The $5 million project will create 40 jobs.
