New guns for Wapato Police

WAPATO, Wash. -- Wapato police officers are getting new guns to replace outdated ones they say can be faulty.

The police chief says some of the guns used by officers date back to the Vietnam era.

The force is upgrading to new A-R-15's. Wapato will buy the guns for any officer who wants one. Officers will then own the guns after paying the city back within a year.
