New Ellensburg interpretive center expected in 2016
ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- A new visitor and nature center is coming to Ellensburg in 2016. The Kittitas Environmental Education Network is building an interpretive center.
The building will go along the scenic path stretching from Ellensburg to Selah on State Route 821.
It has taken nearly 15 years to launch.
"Everything has sort of come together and be the right situation," said KEEN member Jill Scheffer. "It's become real in the last two years, I would say the money has come together and the partners have really come together and now it's moving very quickly."
The project will cost almost a million dollars, all of it coming from federal money.
The organization is in the process of hiring an architect.
