Nearly double the vendors at Yakima Farmer's Market

YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Yakima Farmer's Market broke a record Sunday for largest number of vendors. The record set last year was 37 vendors. This year, they've nearly doubled that number. Sunday there were 68 vendors at the market.

One vendor reported sales of over $800. First-time vendors say business is booming.

"We're a new Mexican business here in Yakima and we just want to be a part of the Farmer's market to promote our business, and to also be a part of the community," said Xochimilco owner, Jenny Villa.

Organizers say the variety of products sold is also expanding. They say they are seeing more local artists selling their work.
