More people pawn items during the holidays

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Local pawn shops say they're seeing more customers walking through their doors. Owners see between a 10 to 15 percent increase in business during holiday season. Employees say this is the time where people are looking for extra cash for holiday gifts and to pay off those costly winter energy bills.

"Well Thanksgiving is coming up and of course we're going to make a big meal so that little extra in my pocket helps a lot to make things work a little smoother," said customer Rich Tabayoyon.

Customers say when it comes to pawning an item, it's important to be able to find a place you trust with your personal belongings.
