More driving without a valid license

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Multiple people get tickets everyday here in Yakima for driving without a valid license. Since April of last year, YPD cited more than 2,700 drivers for having a suspended or revoked license. The ticket is 500 dollars.

"If they do receive a ticket a notice of infraction from the police department if they fail to respond to that ticket in some way. Then the department of licensing will suspend their driver's license-that's one of the most common reasons that people's licenses get suspended," said Sergeant Tim Bardwell of YPD.

Turns out the Department of Licensing has seen a slight increase in the issue. So far this year, the suspended or revoked an average of 35 licenses a day.
