Miss Toppenish competes for crown

TOPPENISH, Wash. -- Miss Toppenish is going for a bigger honor this weekend.

Yocelin Cano will get her chance to be the next Miss Washington and move on to the Miss USA pageant.

Her platform focuses on bullying.

"Nobody is really that aware about bullying and it's still going on and it usually has to do with racial, gender, which I see everybody as being equal, and there's still a problem in schools, and I believe that teachers and parents should talk more to their kids," said Yocelin Cano.

Yocelin comes from an agriculture background in Toppenish.

She works as a Pharmacy assistant and is also studying Bio-medical engineering at Shoreline Community College.
