Meyers Road bridge to re-open November 29
TOPPENISH, Wash. - The North Meyers Road bridge over the Yakima River is soon to be open to travelers after a long-term construction project.
According to an update from the Toppenish Chamber of Commerce, a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held November 29 at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate the completion of road replacement and improvements.
Leaders said the construction was crucial to address transportation safety due to aging infrastructure. The major roadways connect Toppenish and Zillah over the river.
Flooding previously caused the bridge to close in February of 2016.
