Man struck by car, killed from lying on State Route 97
TOPPENISH, Wash. - A man is dead after a car struck him while he was lying down in a State Route 97 lane.
28-year-old Timothy Bisbee, of Toppenish was reportedly lying in the northbound lane of SR 97 near milepost 61 where a Pontiac struck him around 12:24 a.m., September 3.
Lourdes Walle, 23, of Toppenish was driving the 2007 Pontiac and was unable to stop in time to avoid striking Bisbee, Washington State Patrol (WSP) reports said.
Medics transported Bisbee to Harborview Medical Center, where he died on the morning of September 5.
Walle, along with two passengers, were not injured in the accident.
WSP detectives are investigating.
