Man in alleged stabbing of girlfriend arrested
YAKIMA, Wash. - A man has been arrested after reports say he stabbed his girlfriend because he thought another man was flirting with her.
Court documents said the victim went to Astria Regional Medical Center with stab wounds. One of her cuts was nearly six or eight inches long.
She told officials her boyfriend, Irving Alvarez, had previously stabbed her in an argument, Sunday night.
Reports said the boyfriend slashed her once, fought her again then cut her a second time and fled the scene.
Police found Alvarez in his truck and commanded him to come out. He eventually complied after officers used a stun gun on him.
He is charged with domestic violence, second degree assault and resisting arrest, according to documents.
Reports say Alvarez is also connected to several other assault charges and tied to a shooting case. His bail is set at $150,000.
