Man hospitalized after Yakima shooting

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A 19-year-old man has been hospitalized after a shooting Thursday evening in Yakima.

According to the Yakima Police Department, the man was riding his bike near the intersection of Roosevelt and Clark Avenues just before 6:30 p.m. when someone shot him. Officers found shell casings near the scene. They say the shooting appears to be gang-related.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, then flown to Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle. His identity has not yet been released.

Police say the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
