Man accused of shooting at tribal officer appears in court

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- A man accused of shooting at a tribal officer made his first court appearance Friday.

Deputies said Douglas Kemp shot at a White Swan officer after fighting with family. It turned into a 4-hour standoff.

Kemp was treated for a minor gunshot wound after his arrest. No officers were hurt.

Kemp will be back in a Yakima County court in early July.
