Local woman accused of stealing $17K from dozens of State Farm customers in Sunnyside
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- A local woman facing a charge of first-degree theft made her first court appearance Friday.
Court papers said Maria Munoz, 38, stole almost $17,000 from 37 State Farm customers in Sunnyside.
Court documents said Munoz was a State Farm office manager who stole customer payments and opened new fire and casualty policies for about two years.
When customers complained about late fees and cancellations court papers said Munoz told them it was an issue with the payment system.
Munoz is out of custody on the pretrial release program and has been ordered to stay away from State Farm.
