Local rescue shelter suffers rough year

YAKIMA, Wash.-- A Yakima business aimed to rehabilitate birds of prey has had a rough year. On Thursday, someone brought an injured eagle to Raptor House in Yakima and just this morning, it passed away. We have learned that it's not uncommon.

Of 91 birds brought to the Raptor house in 2012, only 44 of them were released. They still have 5 of those in their care. That means almost 50% of the birds brought in died. These animals are dealing with more pollution and environmental issues.
