Local principal up for top honors in state

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A local principal is up for top honors in the state. Lee Maras of Adams Elementary School is one of three finalists for Washington's Elementary Principal of the year.

Maras pointed to his school's success that has shown an improvement in student performance.

"I really feel like we have a wonderful school so it's just very humbling and also it's wonderful for our kids and parents and staff," said Adams Elementary Principal, Lee Maras.

The winner of this year's award will be announced in March.
