Local Harley Owner's Group host toy drive for YWCA
YAKIMA, Wash. - Hundreds of bikers will be roaring through town this Sunday, all to bring some toys to local kids.
The toy run starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday at Owens Cycle and at noon the bikers will ride over to the YWCA to drop off the toys.
The bikers have been doing this for over 25 years and are expecting more than 400 people to ride on Sunday.
Duane Worrell is one of the organizers of the group and he said he got involved because no kid should go without Christmas.
"We both have gone through stuff as kids growing up and know what it's like to not have Christmas,” he said. “There’s a lot of people out there that don't know that, these kids shouldn't have to feel that either, for us it was personal."
They collected $500 within their group to purchase toys this year and with coupons and discounts Toys-R-Us helped them walk out with $1100 worth of toys to donate.
