Local exchange students hold International Fair at Eisenhower High School
YAKIMA, Wash.- Tuesday night you'll have a chance to get to know different cultures from all around the world while staying right here in Yakima.
Eisenhower high school will be hosting an International Fair in their Commons from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
The fair is part of a partnership with CCI Greenheart, a global non-profit that partners with U.S. schools to connect Americans with international students.
Exchange students throughout the Yakima Valley will have booths to display their home culture's music, food, dance, handcrafts, and games.
"Not a lot of people have good ideas about the Middle East. And when people think of Egyptians, people think of deserts, and pharaohs, and pyramids… which was like 7,000 years ago. It's like we just died afterward. So I just want to share the culture and let people know we're still there. We're still a country," said Youssef Ibrahiem, an Egyptian exchange student at La Salle High School.
Students from Brazil, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Spain, Pakistan and Ukraine will all be present.
The event is free to the public.
