Lake Stevens man arrested on charges of stealing a vehicle following a test drive
ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Police in Ellensburg have arrested a Lake Stevens man on suspicions of stealing a vehicle.
According to Ellensburg Police Department (EPD) reports, a 33-year-old man from Lake Stevens test drove a vehicle Monday, March 20 and later returned it.
Employees noticed the same vehicle was missing from the parking lot Tuesday morning according to police.
Upon investigation, EPD officers discovered an employee had obtained a photocopy of the suspect's driver's license before he test drove the car Monday.
Police found the vehicle broken down on I-90 and later arrested and booked the suspect into Kittitas County Corrections on a recommended motor vehicle theft charge according to reports.
EPD officials said the vehicle was returned to the parking lot.
