Kittitas County deputies arrest suspect involved in vehicle scavenges
KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. - Law enforcement have arrested a suspect who was trying to steal wheels off a truck.
Kittitas County deputies police responded to a report from the owner of a tuck who said they witnessed a man at the 71 block of Airport Road in Cle Elum trying to take wheels off their truck and drove away in a white truck around 6:46 a.m., Friday.
Another witness informed police at the scene that a white truck was parked in front of their property gate, according to reports. He said the driver ran away when he tried to question him.
Officers discovered the truck parked in front of the gate and found the suspect, 23-year-old Christopher Lagerstrom, of Edmonds in the area of 1071 Airport Road.
Police arrested Lagerstrom and found more items from two additional vehicle prowl reports inside his truck. The suspect is charged with three counts of vehicle prowl and 2nd degree theft.
Reports said officers also found property belonging to the 1071 Airport Road home.
Deputies estimate Lagerstrom attempted to steal nearly $5,000 of items.
