Kids take the wheel during Dozer Day weekend
YAKIMA, Wash. - Kids are taking the wheel during an interactive event that educates children about the value of construction work.
The fourth annual Dozer Day invites families to the Yakima Fairgrounds, where kids can learn more about the construction industry and how these functional vehicles work.
The City of Yakima will be on hand with their equipment so participants can learn about their garbage trucks and how those work.
Kids will also have the opportunity to interact with local police, SWAT, Search and Rescue, the sheriff's department and firefighters.
Event leaders said there is no age limit for this event.
There is an area for kids to drive for ages two to 12, as well as an area for older kids and adults.
Kids can ride the dozers Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you buy tickets ahead of time, they go for $8 for kids age 2-12 and seniors 65 and up, $10 for adults.
Tickets are $3 extra at the door.
