Jury will decide whether a convicted sex offender is released
YAKIMA Wash. -- A new jury will have to decide whether a convicted sex offender will be released from prison or not.
A trial for John Robinson started Thursday at the Yakima Superior Court but the judge called for a mistrial this morning because of comments that the State Attorney made about Robinson the judge says could bias the jury.
Robinson is asking to be released from the States Special Treatment Center for sex offenders after being there for 17 years.
Robinson was convicted for rape and kidnapping back in the 1990's.
A retrial won't happen until March 5 of next year.
