Judge won't dismiss criminal charges against Frank Sweet
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Criminal charges against Frank Sweet will not be dropped. A Yakima County judge denied that motion Tuesday in court.
Sweet is charged with destroying public documents and stealing property that belonged to Selah.
His attorney filed three separate motions, including one that asked a judge to throw out of the case based on insufficient evidence.
Prosecutors said the crimes happened before he was fired as Selah's supervisor.
Sweet has since been fired from his role as temporary city manager in Sunnyside.
A judge allowed for his trial to be pushed back. Prosecutors will discuss scheduling a trial date with Sweet's attorney this week.
