Hundreds of farmers come to Yakima to attend conference

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Hundreds of sustainable and organic farmers were in Yakima this weekend at the Tilth Producers of Washington conference.

It's one of the biggest conferences in the region for organic farming. Workshops addressed issues like food safety and renewable energy. Farmers said it's important to learn about these topics.

"It's really important to get other people's perspective and share our perspective and see what the problems are and see how they may have dealt with their problems," said Farmer Nash Huber.

This is the tenth time the conference has been in Yakima.
