Hot hot hot! Record-setting heat in Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. -- There's no doubt Thursday was another hot one out there. In fact, temperatures hit the triple digit mark for the seventh consecutive day in Yakima.

Temperatures hit the 102 mark at the airport.

The last time Yakima experienced 100-degree-heat for seven straight days was in 1981. Neighbors are doing all they can to beat the heat.

"The heat sucks because you know you just sweat all day and you have to drink a ton of water. I'm constantly having to leave my rounds to get ice", said Kyle Friedrich a local postal officer.

Some neighbors tried to stay cool today by relaxing in the shade at Miller Park.

The average highs this time of year hover around 90 degrees and the lows about 55 degrees.
