Heritage University hosted eclipse viewing party for community
TOPPENISH, Wash.- With all the excitement over the eclipse Heritage University in Toppenish planned a viewing party of their own.
They had 200 glasses for people to pass around and view the sun safely, but those quickly ran out when over 400 people showed up.
The event was supposed to be for students and faculty initially, but that all changed when it got attention on social media.
There were people from all over the area in attendance and Delores Walker came all the way from New York to watch it.
"This is awesome,” she said. “This is once in a lifetime for me. That's what it's all about."
Walker has seen an eclipse before but being able to see it live and away from the city made it all worth the distance she traveled.
