Grandview weighing levy to pay for school athletic facilities

GRANDVIEW, Wash. -- Grandview is looking to replace the track and football field at the high school.

It's considering a levy worth $1.6 million. The levy would cost about $100 for every $100,000 your home is worth.

A coach of the Greyhounds says the track is so bad, some athletes have gotten shin splints because of it.

"They bring up the issue 'why don't they just fix it?' which it sounds reasonable, let's just fix it," said Grandview High School Football and Track Coach Rick Ramos.

Grandview's School Board will vote on the proposed levy Tuesday.

If approved by voters, construction should start in the spring.
