Free workshops for local seniors discussing fraud, Medicare
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Some free library workshops for seniors in the Yakima Valley will be available this upcoming week.
Yakima Valley Libraries will host two classes conducted by staff from the Medicare Health Alliance.
A workshop on the the basics of the federal Medicare program will start at 2 p.m. at Sunnyside Community Library on Tuesday, May 16.
Another class on fraud prevention will start at 12:30 p.m. at Yakima Central Library on Thursday, May 18.
Seniors lose more than $36 billion to financial abuse or fraud each year, according to a 2015 report.
