Floodwaters remain near Tampico, clean-up underway
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- There is still standing water in fields and around homes after severe flooding in parts of north Yakima County this week.
Officials with the county's Emergency Management Office (EMO) said they are working to address the damage, particularly in areas near Tampico and Wiley City.
"We do have several spots where the water is up over the road in a couple places, specifically at Wiley Road and Meadowbrook Road, which are about 89th and 90th at Ahtanum," said EMO Director Scott Miller.
Officials said clean-up will take some time and that overall the county is in good shape. They said no evacuations are being made and no shelters are needed at this time.
