Firefighters battle 4,000-acre hillside blaze in White Swan
WHITE SWAN, Wash. - Firefighters are now battling a 4,000-acre wildfire on the side of a hill in White Swan.
Fire crews responded near the intersection of Island Road and Pumphouse Road in White Swan shortly after midnight Friday morning.
Firetrucks had to drive through rough terrain to reach the fire.
At this time, there are no homes threatened and no injuries reported.
The Deputy Fire Chief at the scene said a lightning strike caused the fire.
Officials want drivers to avoid the area.
