Firefighters: Arson likely cause after house damaged in second fire
YAKIMA, Wash. - A vacant house is completely damaged after burning in a fire for a second time.
Firefighters received a report Saturday, 10:33 p.m. of a house fire at 202 S 7th Street where they found fire coming from the back of the house.
Smoke was showing from the basement, main floor and attic according to officials with the Yakima Fire Department (YFD).
The house was vacant and boarded up so fire crews had to forcibly open up the house to reach the blaze.
21 firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in two hours but the house was a total loss due to a previous fire started in the house July 19.
Firefighters are investigating and suspect arson is the cause of this fire.
