Fire destroys mobile home near Wapato

YAKIMA COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT 5 NEWS RELEASE -- Fire units arrived on the 300 block of Gangl Road and found a double wide Mobile home 3/4 involved with fire venting from the north end of the structure. One engine, mutual aid was requested from Union Gap Fire Dept.

All the occupants were all out of the home. As the engines arrived an aggressive exterior attack was started from three sides of the structure.

The structure had a full basement and the fire in the structure had to be controlled before entry was made. Extensive overhaul was done and the structure was a total loss. The majority of the content was lost also.

The fire was mostly contained to the structure of origin. There was a small amount of heat damage to some gardening items outside next to the shop. Because of the location of the fire, water had to be brought in a via water tender trucks.

The property owner advised that they had some power fluctuation within the last week. This may have cause the fire however, the investigation was tuned over the Yakima County Fire Marshal's office for investigation.

The fire does not appear to be suspicious. No injuries or extraordinary event occurred.
