English classes to be taught at Safe Haven Community Center in Toppenish
TOPPENISH Wa. -- If you know a family or friend that is trying to learn English, Safe Haven Community Center in Toppenish will be offering classes.
The center is preparing for its Fall session of English as a Second Language classes.
ESL Teacher Tracy Almanza says the classes will be open to the public and are free of charge.
“We do them to help the community really, there’s a lot of people here who do not speak English and they’re missing out on a lot of opportunities so we’re trying to help them give them the skill," said Almanza.
The classes will be offered Monday through Thursday beginning October 8th.
All students must take an assessment before being placed in a class.
