Ellensburg, Grandview recognized as Tree Cities

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Ellensburg and Grandview have each been recognized as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.

They join 82 other cities in Washington that have received the honor for 2014.

To be named a Tree City USA , a city must have a board or department responsible for trees, establish a tree ordinance, spend $2 per capita on tree care, and celebrate Arbor Day.

Ellensburg has been a Tree City USA for 31 years, longer than any other city in the state. Grandview has been named a Tree City 17 times.
