Downtown Yakima plaza reaches funding goal
YAKIMA, Wash. - A new development in downtown Yakima now has enough funds to move forward.
A committee announced December 29 the Yakima Central Plaza reached it's monetary goal for construction.
According to a press release, the Yakima City Council required that the plaza committee raise $9 million in private funding contracts by December 31, 2017.
Yakima Valley Tourism press said the money came from more than 450 people, companies and organizations.
The plaza is designed to provide open event space, play areas for kids, a market hall for visitors and many other features.
