Downtown Yakima Dairy Queen may move

YAKIMA, Wash. -- There's talk about potentially moving the Dairy Queen in Downtown Yakima. It could move to the parking lot next door, in front of the Yakima Chamber of Commerce.

Yakima's city manager said the Yakima Dairy Queen owner is interested in moving, but needs corporate approval first. Yakima City Council would also have to approve it.

Drivers said traffic gets congested at the current drive-thru.

"It's just not a very good spot," said driver Noah Martin. "If they have the choice to move, I think it would be a good idea just for the safety aspect of it."

Yakima's city manager said a possible idea to replace the Dairy Queen is an information center.
