WAPATO, Wash. -- A 16-year-old boy was shot Wednesday morning in Wapato, according to the Yakima County Sheriff's Office. It happened near the intersection of Highway 97 and West Wapato Rd.
Officials told KIMA the teen was alive and went straight into surgery following the shooting.
Deputies said they don't know what led to the shooting but it appears to be gang-related. They have no suspects.
