Demolition makes way for new McDonald's in downtown Yakima
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima is one step closer to seeing a new McDonald's downtown. Demolition began early this morning on the building that's currently on the site.
Walls of the once Grand Buffet and J-B's Big Boy crumbled to the ground.
McDonald's will soon sit on the corner of First Street and Yakima Avenue.
The torn down building had been vacant for almost ten months.
A new monument was originally planned for the corner.
Construction for the new building is slated to begin next week. Officials say you should be able to start visiting the golden arches in December.
