County sheriffs arrest three suspects tied to West Valley burglary
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. - Yakima County sheriffs have arrested three suspects involved in a West Valley burglary.
Yakima County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) received a report on April 17 from a victim at the 14000 block Mcauley Rd saying three people in a dark-colored BMW stole several tools from his construction business's work truck.
Two business employees also witnessed the robbery and followed the suspect's vehicle as they drove away, according to reports.
Police said the suspects abandoned the stolen tools as they were getting away and witnesses said they were last seen driving toward the city of Yakima on Wide Hollow Road.
A deputy saw the vehicle heading east on Wide Hollow Road near the intersection of S 96th Avenue and attempted the pull the vehicle over, according to reports.
The vehicle stopped in the Cottonwood Elementary parking lot while students were being dropped off at school.
Officials notified the school of the situation and the school tried to go into lockdown but deputies said they were unsure if the procedure was successful due to kids still entering the school.
Sheriff's deputies found two suspects- a 21-year-old Yakima man and an 18-year-old woman from the Moxee area. Officials took the two into custody and later located the third 21-year-old male suspect walking in the area.
Deputies also took two pistols found inside the vehicle reports said.
Officials reported all three suspects were arrested on charges of felony theft and firearms violations.
